Passion fruit is an energetic, climbing vine that clings by tendrils to any support it finds. The vines are grown from cuttings, seeds and through tissue culture.
Passion Fruit Varieties
There are distinct varieties of passion fruit with clear differing exterior appearances. The bright yellow flavicarpa variety, known as the Golden Passion Fruit has a smooth, glossy, light and airy rind and can grow up to the size of a grapefruit.
The dark purple edulis variety is smaller than a lemon; it is less acidic than the yellow passion fruit and has a richer aroma and flavour.
